FinPulzGenie ("FinPulzGenie", "we", "us", or "our") helps you understand your money by analyzing bank statements you choose to upload. Because we handle sensitive financial information, protecting your data is core to how the product is built. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the controls you have.

1. Who we are

FinPulzGenie is a personal-finance application operated from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@finpulzgenie.com.

2. Information we collect

Account information — your name, email address, and authentication credentials (or the identity token from a sign-in provider) when you register.
Bank statements you upload — the statement files you choose to provide, and the transactions, dates, amounts, balances, and merchant details extracted from them.
Derived financial data — spending categories, summaries, subscriptions, and insights we generate from your transactions.
Assistant conversations — the questions you ask the AI assistant and the context needed to answer them.
Technical & usage data — basic log data such as device/browser type, IP address, and in-app actions, used to keep the service secure and reliable.

3. How we use your information

To parse, categorize, and analyze your statements and present your finances back to you.
To power the AI financial assistant with answers grounded in your data.
To create, secure, and support your account.
To maintain, debug, and improve the reliability and security of the service.
To meet legal, tax, or regulatory obligations that apply to us.

We do not sell your personal or financial data, and we do not use your statements to advertise to you.

4. AI processing

To categorize transactions and answer your questions, relevant, minimized portions of your financial data may be processed by large-language-model services we use as sub-processors. These providers process the data only to return a result to you and under contractual confidentiality terms; they are not permitted to use it to train their models for their own purposes.

5. Data isolation & security

Every account's data is strictly scoped to that account — no user can read or write another user's statements, transactions, goals, or conversations. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access is restricted on a need-to-know basis, and sensitive identifiers are protected at rest. Our infrastructure is hosted on Amazon Web Services in the India (Mumbai) region.

6. Sharing & sub-processors

We share data only with service providers that help us run FinPulzGenie — for example cloud hosting and storage (Amazon Web Services), email delivery, and the AI providers described above — each bound to protect it. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or as part of a business transfer, in which case we will notify you.

7. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete individual statements at any time, and deleting your account removes your personal and financial data from active systems, subject to limited retention required for legal, security, or backup purposes.

8. Your rights & choices

Access & export — view and download the financial data in your account.
Correction — fix inaccurate account details.
Deletion — delete uploaded statements, or your entire account.
Withdraw consent — stop using the service and request removal of your data.

9. Cookies & local storage

We use only the cookies and browser storage necessary to keep you signed in and remember basic preferences (such as light/dark theme). We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

10. Children

FinPulzGenie is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date, and where appropriate we will notify you in the app or by email.
